What changed

Sell tickets to an event, with as many kinds as you need: a seat, a child’s place, a table that admits eight on one code. Free tickets still reserve a seat and still get a code to scan.
A discount code is issued to one member and refused to everybody else — replacing working each person’s discount out by hand and typing it into another system. Percentage or a fixed amount, issued to your members or to a list of addresses you paste in, and exportable to email or print.
E-tickets with a QR code, and a door screen built for somebody standing up with a queue in front of them: one field, one verdict, and it refuses a ticket that has already been used.
The money is in the same ledger as everything else. A ticket payment appears in Contributions, refunds go through the usual path, and there is no second system to reconcile.
